On November 2 2012, Fulbright-Nehru Visiting Lecturer program, 2010-11 alumna, Asha Asher presented the keynote address on the theme “Occupational Therapy as Diverse as our Clients”, at the Annual conference of the Ohio Occupational Therapy Association. The conference hosted by Zane State College was attended by both occupational therapy practitioners and students. After her return from the Fulbright-Nehru fellowship, she shared her perspectives with the OT students and therapists through a presentation at the Ohio Occupational therapy association’s annual conference (2011) near Cleveland, Ohio, titled “Chai and Biscuits; Strategies to create a Collaborative International occupational therapy experience.” She followed through with an article in OT Practice published by the American Occupational Therapy Association on the same topic and an article in Advance giving a brief overview of occupational therapy in India. She is currently working out the logistics of facilitating virtual meetings between students in US and students in India to discuss the similarities and differences in the practice of occupational therapy.

Asher currently works with Sycamore Community Schools in Cincinnati, Ohio, and teaches part time at Cleveland State University, Ohio. During her Fulbright-Nehru tenure, she worked on Occupational Therapy for Students with Disabilities at Lokmanya Tilak Municipal General Hospital, Mumbai.
